Gravy Train

Dinner tonight -- salad, green beans, mashed potatoes, turkey breast. Pretty good spread for a meal Casa MEP. There was also gravy from a jar and cranberries from a can. I got out my Johnson Brothers Friendly Village dishes to add to the festive spirit.

The boys ate turkey dipped in ketchup. My in-laws were kind and appreciative and said nice things.
Let me try to capture hubby's review.

Hubby: I liked the gravy.
MEP: I did not make the gravy.
Hubby: Oh.

And you are welcome.

Hilarious. Did you cook up the turkey all by yourself? Very impressive. My BB is very easily impressed with any meal I serve...as long as all the food groups are present (the way his mom always did) then I get a "great meal." Never mind that the fruits and/or veggies very well may be straight from a can. LAP

Anytime I make gravy, it is a total fail. So if I serve it, it's made by someone else.

I wanna come over for leftovers. I love cranberries from a can!

I'm impressed that you cooked a turkey breast. I find it complicated to get just right. That's why I purchase the precooked one from Jewel.

Sounds wonderful! Tell the hubby he could work on his follow-through a little! ;-)

Exactly the kind of commentary I receive on my culinary efforts.
A "pretty good, dear" and I know I've approached Top Chef status!

I actually laughed out loud at that! Sounds much like the reviews around here. It's pulling teeth to get a culinary compliment. And I'm not a half bad cook, ntb.

For the record, the ONLY kind of cranberry sauce I like is the kind that is shaped like a can. I prefer to slice it up into little pie shapes and slurp it down. Think I'll have some tonight, in fact.
