Sorry, VIP's only . . .

NTB, but we're in the middle of a pretty exclusive Super Bowl party here. In the first phase of the party, the bub ate his dinner and also part of a hot pretzel (a nod to stadium food) while the hubby and I "feasted" on Jalapeno Poppers and TGIFriday's frozen appetizers I purchased at Target this morning. I bathed the bubby during the second quarter. Next, I folded laundry and picked up toys during halftime while the hubby put the bubby to bed. Then the fun really began. I heated up a Weight Watchers Smart Ones chocolate cake and washed it down with a glass of milk, whilst enjoying the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly. Then, the hubby decided to get a bowl of ice cream. He also found the caramel sauce and whipped cream (don't judge the over-indulgence, this is a party after all). The low/high point of the party occurred when he walked into the living room, holding his ice cream bowl high and proclaiming, "Now this is a Super Bowl Sundae. . . . Get it?" Got it. We are officially lame. NTB.

I'm laughing really hard right now.

As a side note, I don't know that I've ever really watched a SuperBowl game before but I found myself quite focused last night for the sole reason that I feel bad for Eli and the talks of him being terrible and was happy to see him win and happy to see Peyton cheering for him in the crowd.

Hm. Well, perhaps my own husband's enthusiasm made up for what sounds like a relatively tame Super Bowl Sunday chez MEP? Although I am an Iggles fan myself, I couldn't help but delight in my beloved's raptures with respect to Big Blue. He has been walking four feet above the ground since that last touchdown, as are many here in the Big Apple. Putting regional differences aside, I, too, am delighted for that sweetie-pie, Hoboken-dwelling Eli.

My sentiments are the same as Lap's. There is nothing more heartwarming for a parent than to watch one sibling be genuinely happy for another. An example would be witnessing Mark's reaction to Jeffrey's homerun in the tourney. Good stuff. (I wasn't too tempted by the menu but kudos to T. for the Super Bowl Sundae. It's going to catch on.

We are all immensely blessed that the Giants defeated the forces of darkness in the Super Bowl, restoring peace and justice to the world. We howled for four hours straight. To get back on topic though, I had a regular Klondike. I ate all the Oreo Klondikes before having any of the regular and I will repeat that pattern.

I watched the Super Bowl with a friend while eating Papa John's and polishing it off with a UDF Deep Freeze with Butterfinger...I am pretty sure that a certain someone in the Albany, NY greater area is foaming at the mouth of such a sophisticated menu. ETF

I started out the evening at a party with my sister and her 59 year old boyfriend. Many of the guests have grandchildren the age of my own children. Then my husband headed off to the hospital for a couple of deliveries. The girls got baths and bedtime stories in between watching commercials. I then sat down and made myself a new found treat... milkshake made with my new hand held blender. Great for so many things. Big Fun... Almost as great as my New Year's Eve adventures!!!
