I threw it away.

It was a carrot cake "loaf" with cream cheese frosting (almost one inch thick on top), purchased on a whim at the grocery store. I ate it whenever I remembered it was there in the refrigerator, waiting for me. Yes, I did share one piece with my husband. But mostly, I ate it myself, even when I was not hungry. There was one piece left when I opened the fridge this morning to grab a Diet Coke. It was a pretty good sized piece, but I threw it away all the same. NTB.

I don't remember having a piece. Why didn't you give it to me instead of throwing it away?

Hmmm...while I admire your restraint in throwing away that last piece, T-Baby does seem to have a valid point. However, if he can't even remember eating a piece previously, it sounds like he wasn't all that passionate about the cake.
Your blog inspires me to want to pass by the Brach's candy pick-a-mix bin at the grocery store without putting in my quarter to take 3 pieces of candy. Really, what other adult does that? Sometimes I even put a quarter into my pocket before entering the store so as not to make a scene digging through my purse for loose change once I come upon it. I will phase out the candy by going to only 1 piece next time (3 for 25 cents, 1 for 10 cents....taking 2 is a gray area so best I just skip to 1 for now before cutting it off all together.)
