Need a little Christmas?

Some people I know have felt their holiday spirit to be lacking a bit this year. Here's my cure for the holiday blues . . .

Stay tuned for a post I have in the works that examines my obsession with dressing my boys in matching outfits and a related post on the grand old tradition of matching holiday pajamas.

If you're hungry for more holiday NTB, check out these holiday-themed posts from last year:

The one about getting Bub all dressed up to meet Daddy downtown at work and have a delightful holiday lunch . . . at McDonalds.

The one about that damn train around our Christmas tree.

The one about which movies I like to watch while wrapping presents.

The one about my love for candy cane pens -- by the way, this year's candy cane pens at Walgreens are the worst ever.

I hope you all are finding moments of joy and calm in these busy days.

If any of you have a matching holiday pajama photo you would like posted on NTB, please email it to me at mep at nottobrag dot net.

We always dress our kids in matching clothes...it's functional, safe, and easy... and just darned cute. If there's a sale, I just buy 3 in whatever sizes. When they grow out of them, then the younger 2 match! If we're out in public it helps other people know the 3 kids all belong to the same family, helping me keep track of where everyone is, being able to 'spot' them quickly. And lastly and certainly not least, it makes sorting, laundry, and picking out clothes in the morning a snap. Glad I'm not the only 'outfit matching' freak out there...

There was a girl in my class at college who had a different holiday-themed outfit for every day between Thanksgiving and Christmas. The mid-nineties were not a time for high fashion (especially in Northern Indiana), but even I in my men's XL flannel shirt could felt like I was wearing couture in comparison to her white tights with holly leaves and small-patterned candy cane turtlenecks.

I'm not saying I don't appreciate matching holiday pajamas, but just be careful you don't get too carried away. I've seen where such things can lead, and it's a little scary.

Ugh. I meant to say "but even I in my men's XL flannel shirt could feel like I was wearing couture..."

Thanks for the memories. I'm hoping against hope I can pull off the 12 days of Christmas over at Small World --watch for it starting Sunday. You'll be sure to see a matching pajamas photo as part of it all!

So you don't like this year's candy cane pen at Walgreens? I just purchased one yesterday and noted that despite being longer and skinnier than the original version, the peppermint scent is stronger than years past. I will continue to use it.

I have a fear that you will be posting matching PJ pictures from our youth. Please be nice.

I would just like to apologize ahead of time, I am sure people will say " what was your mother thinking?" if you publish certain holiday pictures. I will add that it has not stopped me from purchasing the look alikes for the next generation.

Oh, I wish I had a matching pajama photo to send you but, alas, I do not. I'll have to get crackin' on that one. Bub's smile could certainly brighten anyone's day! I'm off to go visit the ghosts of NTB past...

Love the matching holiday pj's and wish my mom had carried the tradition into our adulthood...is that weird? My favorites were the floor length nightgowns that said "Santa's Helper" down the side. If anyone knows where I can get one in an adult size M, I'm interested.
